- "Negro man" Abin, valued at $600. Later in the inventory pages, he was called Ebbin and was valued at $700
- "Negro man"Lewis, valued at $900 along with Cloe and "child." Lewis was also was mentioned in John Campbell's will.[3]

- "Negro man" Booker, valued at $550. Later in the inventory he was sold for $571.
- "Negro Boy" Phil, valued at $300. He was later called "Little Phil," and named in the list of property sold for $306.

- "Negro Boy" Washington, valued at $175. In a later page of the inventory he was valued at $132.

Research Notes
A quick search of the distinctive names in this inventory was conducted for the 1870 census. A Black farmer named Philip Campbell, born in 1815, was located in Georgia. His birth year of 1815 would make it understandable why he was called "Little Phil." His wife was Chloe (a name that appeared twice in this inventory,) with children Lewis and Susan (among others). Those names are also named in the inventory. They may be children who were named for the adults who were listed in John Campbell's 1823 inventory.[4] More research needs to be done to determine if this family (or their ancestors) were enslaved in Abbeville South Carolina in the early 1820s.
