1850 slave schedule enumerated 178 unnamed enslaved owned by John Hume Lucas.[2]
While the Hopsewee Plantation continued to be owned by the Lucas family it is unknown which of the heirs owned and enumerated the enslaved on Hopsewee in 1860.
