One of his most famous slaves was Armstrong Purdee (1856-1937). His parents, Dave Purdee (bef.1835-) and Pattie (Waddell) Purdee (bef.1835-) were also enslaved here, but their birth dates are as yet unknown.
Waddell's overseer was Nazareth Holder, who was living with him in 1860.[3]
