In 1810, the family was enumerated as follows:
Joseph passed away 30 September 1817 at age 47 and was buried at the Brick Church Cemetery.[2]
His will, signed 27 September 1817 and proven in Charleston Court on 4 October 1817, was lengthy and detailed, making the following specific bequests and conditions:[3]
