In obedience to the annexed order, we the undersigned commissioners met in the Town of Louisburg on the 31st Dec'r 1836 and after being duly qualified proceeded to value the Slaves of JOSEPH J. ALSTON, dec'd, being twenty nine in number, which valuation amounted to Fifteen Thousand Seven Hundred & Sixty five Dollars. We then proceeded to divide said Negroes by drawn lots, in which we allot to:
