Will and Inventory
In the Will of Nicholas Ziegler,[4] he allocated his slaves to his wife and three of his children. In his Inventory, three additional slaves were mentioned.[5]

Research Note
In the 1840 Census he is enumerated with 59 slaves. In his will he gives 44 to his children and has 3 more in his inventory. He then dies in Jan 1841. What happened to the other 12 enslaved?
