Escaped Slaves
Richard Eppes had three plantations. According to his biography when the Union Army established their headquarters at Appottomax Manor, all but thirteen of his slaves escaped. University of Virginia has transcribed a list of slaves owned by Richard Eppes who left the plantation.[2]
