This page's purpose is to record the people enslaved by Richard Tydings (1783-1865) and attempt to connect them to their families.
Richard Tydings was born in 1783 in Anne Arundel County, Maryland. At some point between 1840 and 1850 he moved his family to Breckinridge County, Kentucky, then by 1860 moved to Shepherdsville, Bullitt County, Kentucky, where he died in October 1865. He was a Methodist minister.
In 1820 Richard was enslaving 11 people in Anne Arundel County, Maryland.[1]
In 1830 he was enslaving 10 people in Anne Arundel County.[2]
In 1840 he was enslaving 12 people in Anne Arundel County.[3]
In 1850 he was enslaving 5 people ranging in age from 7 to 70 years old in Breckinridge County, Kentucky:[4]

In 1860 he was enslaving 25 people ranging in age from 1 to 48 years old in Shepherdsville, Bullitt County, Kentucky, in two slave houses:[5]
