In his will dated 25 Jun 1839 in Greene County, Alabama (the area he lived in is now a part of Hale County), Robert Graves named 10 enslaved people:[1]
To his oldest son Thomas Graves:
- Ned aged about 12
- Jefferson "Jeff" aged about 18
To his son John Graves:
- Gabriel "Gabe" aged about 27
- Solomon aged about 9
To his daughter Mary Ann:
- Lucinda aged about 16
- Rebecca "Becky" aged about 23
- Lucy aged about 34
- Elizabeth aged about 6 months
To his daughter Sarah Glenn:
- Ritty aged 26
- Samuel “Sam” aged about 15
