Page formerly used to document slaves of Sally (Fisher) Martin. Since identified those individuals were aligned with the incorrect Sally Martin, moved this information to page Slaves of Joseph Martin, Henry, Virginia since they were under his ownership and then hers as the executor of his estate.

Hi! I've been working on various profiles that need expanding, stemming from various US War projects. As part of expanding profiles, I also do slave research where I can. That's what got me here.
I think the slaves linked to Sally (Fisher) Martin on the page Slaves of Sally Martin, Virginia, should actually be linked to Sallie Dalton (Hughes) Martin. I did a search for Sally Fisher and Stephen Martin. His 1820-1830 census records show no slaves. I cannot find her on the 1850 or 1860 slave schedules (the source linked on the page for slaves of Sally (Fisher) Martin has been removed by FamilySearch). But some of the slaves on the page I linked below I can find on Virginia birth and/or death records with owner being "Joseph Martin, estate/Sally Martin".
See: Slaves of Joseph and Sallie Martin, Henry, Virginia for links to the source records/images.
Examples:
I also did a broad search on Virginia birth records [1] and Virginia death records [2] for "Stephen Martin" and "Sally Martin" and no records exist for enslaved persons with either of them as an owner in Henry County, Virginia (except the ones where a Sally Martin is owner for Joseph Martin's estate). Only death records for a Stephen Martin in Appomattox, Virginia could be found, and they were all in the 1850s after he had passed.
If you agree, I'll remove the link on Sally (Fisher) Martin's profile to the page that was created for Sally (Fisher) Martin slaves and repurpose that page for Sallie (Hughes) Martin. And, in the meantime, I'm going to add these individuals to a "needs further research" section of the page I linked above for Joseph and Sallie.
Let me know if some of this doesn't make sense, etc.
Thanks!
Here's links to the images for Stephen Martins 1820 & 1830 censuses. 1840 is a bit trickier. On Ancestry one is linked in Franklin, Virginia. On FamilySearch, the one that is in search results is in Patrick, Virginia. Most likely the Patrick one is correct. But I'm not 100% sure. However, in both those cases, there are no slaves on them linked to Stephen.
