Background

Samuel Prioleau lived in the Charleston area of South Carolina. He died 3 January 1792.[1] His will was written 2 Feb 1779 and proven 11 Jan 1792. Family members mentioned are his sons Samuel, Philip, and Hext Prioleau, daughters Ann, Martha, and Elizabeth Prioleau, daughter Mary Magdalen Grimball, and son-in-law Thomas Grimball, Jr.[2]
