Sally may have inherited property when her father died in 1823. She inherited property from her husband Edward Sims (1783-1840) when he died. She inherited all of his slaves (who were not named or enumerated in his Will) with the exception of two grown slaves (man and a woman) to be given to each child when they came of age or married.
