His will written 1 March 1854 named twenty-five enslaved people.[1] The Inventory and Appraisement of the Estate in June of 1854 named twenty-eight enslaved people.[2] In late 1854 and early 1855, Nancy Jennings and Thomas C. Jennings acknowledged receipt of sixteen enslaved to Nancy and three to Thomas.[3] In the first Annual Report for the Estate of Solomon Jennings Senior, Solomon Jennings Junior acknowledged receipt of five enslaved and one enslaved girl on behalf of his daughter, Gilly.[4]

Notes:
- Solomon Jennings Jr was to receive “Aley and her four youngest children” according to the will. In the estate inventory and appraisement Aley was listed as a child, which is likely an error. It is not known if any of Aley’s children were described in the will separately such as the children Nick, John, or Abram who have only been found in the appraisement.
- Nancy Jennings noted receipt of Cornelia Ann and Philey who were not described in the will or the estate inventory and appraisement.
- No record has been found of Solomon's daughters Sydney (Jennings) Goldsby or Althea (Jennings) Hardiman accepting receipt of the enslaved named in the will.
- No record has been found of William and Jesper Jennings accepting receipt of Henry and Charles has been found.
Biographies for the enslaved are in progress. Turner, Turner Jr., Matilda and Reaves are a family unit with others named also likely part of their family.
