Transcriber notes

The writer used spaces rather than commas to separate items. I have transcribed the wavy lines as … and believe that they were used to fill the space of a line. On p. 283 there are several occurrences of a small notation which I’ve transcribed as an ampersand, which perhaps indicated that those enslaved persons were grouped together. However, this notation is different than the ampersand used at the end of the document in “Mare & Colt”. The writer used the f as a medial s in many cases.
