This page's purpose is to record the people enslaved by William Carter Pratt (1821-1891) and attempt to connect them to their families.

William Carter Pratt was born on 1 May 1821 in Caroline County, Virginia. He owned a large plantation called "Camden" on the Rappahannock River, where he enslaved a large number of people.^[1][2]

The 1860 census shows William enslaving 80 people; 79 were located at his Camden plantation^[3] and an additional 18-year-old woman, was hired out at another location.^[4] While the names of most of these enslaved people remain unknown at the time of this writing, some have been identified through the records of the Freedmen's Bureau:^[5]
