This page enumerates the slavery history of William Randall Banks (1766-1820).
Will, Elbert County, 1807
William Banks wrote his will 2 Jun 1807, and it was proven 1 Jan 1821[1]
William states in his will that his wife is Anny Banks, and he has 8 children:
- James Banks
- John Henderson Banks
- William Randol Banks
- Polly Henddinon(?) Banks
- Betsy Banks
- Sally Chandler Banks
- Anny Banks
- Nancy Banks
Probate Records, Elbert County, 1821
The following children were in the probate records:[2]
- Martha Banks
- Eliza Banks
- Patsey Banks
William asks for his wife Anny Banks, and his two brothers Ralph Banks and James Banks to be executors of his will. James Banks, William's brother who is called James Banks SR, must not have actually become executor as James Banks Jr. seems to have taken over that job.
This is the first page of all the loose probate papers for William Banks who died Dec 1820. These papers state that "James Banks",[3] and at times "James Banks Jr." was an administrator of the estate of William Banks.[4]
