Research Notes
William's father died in May 1849. His will bequeathed his slaves to his wife, Ann (13), his son Richard (2) and daughter Mary Susan (1), who were all living in the household of William Webster. Ann, Richard and Mary Susan were not listed as slave owners on the 1850 Slave Schedule, so this list may contain the slaves bequeathed to the three descendants. His will did not bequeath any slaves to William until his mother died.
