Surnames/tags: Cemetery Sloat Slott
These are photos of the Slott/Sloat Cemetery and the grave stones that were visible on the day the photographer (Doug Cooper) visited.
Note that, as mentioned in the information on the main cemetery page, this cemetery was abandoned - probably sometime fairly shortly after 1915. The neighboring farmer seems to have recently been encroaching on the cemetery. There may also have been some vandalism (just a guess). Either way, many of the grave stones have been knocked over, some may still be buried under the surface layer of sod, and many of them are weathered so they are hard to read.
The first photos are of the landscape around the cemetery showing some of the soil displacement with smaller grave stones strewn about. The latter photos are of the individual grave stones the photographer could see on his visit there.
For comparisons: as noted on the Slott/Sloat Cemetery page, in the 1960s there was a list made of all the grave stones that were present at that time. A copy of this hand-written list is included at the end of the images for this profile.
