The Smith Family Scrapbook is a collection of newspaper clippings relating to the family of Henry Smith. The scrapbook itself is an 1871 Guyot's Geographical Series Common School Geography textbook with newspaper clippings pasted inside. Most clippings do not include a date or newspaper title. The earliest obituary is that of Francis R. Smith, Henry's son, who passed away in 1874. The textbook may have belonged to him, as a scrap piece of paper signed by him is in the back, and he was attending school at the time of his death. The most recently dated clipping is the obituary of Hattie M. (Evans) Smith, who passed away on 22 May 1944. The list of deaths includes up to the death of Charles E. Smith in 1952.
The book is currently in the possession of K. Thompson.
