Whilst researching my own ancestors that were entered in the burial register of St. John the Baptist, Margate, Kent, it came to my attention that many that were entered in the register after approximately 1850 were not actually buried in St. John the Baptist, Margate churchyard, but instead had been buried at St. John's Cemetery, Manston Road, Margate, although this was not obvious from the parish register entries. I then discovered that the first burial at St. John's cemetery was that of Harriet Ross, who was buried on the 1st November 1856.
