85-89 Remuera Road, Remuera

This cemetery is located in the Auckland suburb of Remuera and was founded by Bishop Selwyn in 1847. The church has a sweeping lawn between it and Remuera Road. The church and cemetery can be accessed from Remuera Road or from St Mark's Road on the southern side. Burial records are held by the Auckland Diocesan Archives in Parnell, Auckland.

The church originally had burial plots on the front lawn. Under the Reverend Jim Thomas, it was decided that the large parish graveyard had become messy and dangerous, so a significant tidying up project began. In 1966 a large number of headstones were removed to an unknown location. A memorial plaque was installed in the church to commemorate those whose headstones were removed. About 70 headstones of historical interest were saved and installed in a small area at the rear of the church. In 1974 the remains of hundreds of headstones, traced back to St Mark's, were found underground at a property at Bassett Road, Remuera, when a house was being built (Auckland Star Newspaper, 26th April 1974 and 1st May 1974).

The earliest death date recorded is 12th July 1850. There are no new burials but memorial plaques are installed along the northern wall of the cemetery and in the ground at the rear of the church.
