Rescue Efforts

Miners striking in southern Colorado, nurses and relief workers from Texas, among many others joined the rescue efforts.[3]

Results and Findings

A report to William McDermott, mine superintendent, by a night guard that dust-gas was filling the mine and it was unsafe.[5] Additional mining machines had been put into the mine but no additional fans were added to exhaust the increase in dust.[5]
