In the name of god Amen the second daie of Januarie 1618 and in the yere of the Raigne of our sovraigne Lord James by the grace of god king of England Scotland France and Ireland defendor of the faith the xviith of England and of Scotland the two and fifty

I William Starbucke of Marston in the Countie of Derby laborer being sicke in bodie but in perfect sense & memorie thanks to be god therefore doe make this my last will and testament in manner and forme followinge

First I bequeath my sole into the hands of Allmightie god my maker trustinge in him assuredlie that in and by the precious death of Jesus Christ my onelie saviour I shall possesse that heavenlie kingedome which he soe dearelie hath bought & purchased for me and all that do [unfamedlie?] trust in him and my bodie to be buried in the Churchyard of Marston aforesaid

Itm I give unto Thomas Starbucke my eldest sonne the some of vi£ & xs to be put forth towards the bringing up of my said Childe at or before the tenth daie of Maie next Comenge

I give & bequeath unto James Starbucke my youngest sonne vi£ & xs to be paid & put forth towards the bringing up at the time aforesaid

Itm all the rest of my goods unbequeathed I give unto Anne Starbucke my wife Intreating her to have a motherlie Care of my Children and my will & meaninge is that if either of my said Children die or depart this life his porcon soe dyeing shall remayne to the other Child

of the execucon of this my last will & testament I make my brother Roger Starbucke my full & whole sole executor And Intreate my master Thomas Foster of Horsley gent & Arthure Wolley of Marston my master myne overseers

In witness of the same I have hereunto put my hand & seale by me Willm Starbucke

in the presence of Arthure Wolley etc.
