Birth Estimate is 1725 Marriage Estimate 1745 William Gillespie Death Estimate 1797-1798 Pendleton, Anderson County, South Carolina, USA[1]

  • Unlikely mother 1st wife - Nancy Ewing with a Birth Estimate at 1717-1725

(daughter Mary not named in Will but possibly married by 1745 William Gillespie

  • (daughter Margaret) - Single as of Clendenning Will in 1749 - most likely mother was Esther Mayes vs Nancy Ewing. See notes at Esther Mayse (Sourced) (Margaret married about 1758 in Augusta, Samuel Logue who Died 1805 in Bath, Virginia)
  • Esther Mayse married 2nd Archibald Clendenning (aka Clendenin) about 1746-1747.
Esther had 2 Clendenning children (before his death in 1749), Margaret and John;

  • Margaret named in Archibald Clendenning's Will 1749 - Page 148.--Proved, 17th May, 1749, (of Cowpasture) Will (13th December, 1748 ) : Will Book No. 4
(Page 37) 19th August, 1767. Archd. Clendenning's estate settlement by Ann Clendenning, recorded.--Paid Ash Claftrock, John Clendenning, Wm. Galespie, Zopher Carpenter, James Furguson, David Galloway, James Millican, Robt. Galespie , Geo. Roberts, Benj. Kimsey, John Baller.

William and Robert Gillespie are mentioned and we'd have to wonder who these people were considering Archibald died long before her sons with William were born.
