The Duke family in this book trace their origins to Robert Duke [Duke-2711] a farmer in Killturrow, county Sligo, Ireland in the mid-eighteenth century. There were Dukes in Sligo from the time of the Cromwellian plantations and it is possible that the family is linked to these Dukes.
