Description
'Te Kooti' was one of the prominent and most warlike of rebel Māori during the Māori Wars in New Zealand in the mid-1800's. His birth date is uncertain. In 1866 he was deported to the Chatham Islands at which time his age was estimated to be around 35 years old. However, other sources state that he was born in 1814.
