Thank YOU to everyone on Team Northwest Terriers for your good work this past weekend on Clean-a-thon. It doesn't matter how many fixes you made, they all matter. And sometimes it's the more difficult problems that most need attention because they never go away...unless someone takes the time to sort them out and correct them.

Go TNT!!

Mighty Oaks

All the Mighty Oaks thank you for your fantastic work in the Clean-a-Thon. We hope you enjoyed it as much as we did.

Thank you Mighty Oaks! It was a great experience.
Something happened to our CHALLENGE TRACKER

What do you mean? I did notice we have a hard time getting out of the bottom, but I figured it was because we are so small. :-)

It's been a couple of years since I did Clean-A-Thon. How is progress tracked? When we work on records, do we need to record them somewhere, or does it get tracked by our WikiTree ID? Thank you!

Scoring

Once you finish work on an error, you can set a status and enter a comment for it.

There are five actions:

Comment (no change in status): This enables you to add a comment without changing the status.

Not corrected: This sets the error as not corrected. It will continue to be shown in all lists.

Corrected (hide until next recheck): This sets the error as corrected so it will be hidden from error reports until next dump. After that it will be shown again if it was not actually corrected.

False error (hide forever): This sets the error as a false error. It will be hidden from WikiTree+ error reports forever.

Proposed merge (hide for 30 days): This hides the error for 30 days thus giving a merge time to be completed. The error will be hidden from prepared error lists.

Each time you work an error and set the status, you'll earn a contribution point.

Thank you! I've been doing just that, but I wasn't sure how it was tracked. I've been doing a lot of problem-fixing among profiles in my own family this winter and spring, so I'm comfortable with how to do it. I appreciate the info!

Where is the LiNK to work from for the Clean A Thon?

The slow database is slowing me down!!! I've got lots of time to look out the window between profiles.
Have a happy CAT 2021! Greetings from team Nordic Noir!
Thank you Antonia - we're excited to join everyone and work on all those German and Nordic ancestors in the Northwest Territory.
The Virginia Spring Cleaners wish you the best in your endeavor to clean Suggestions. Thank you Northwest Terriers for wanting to make our global tree healthier! And now the fun begins...

Thank you Virginia Spring Cleaners! We'll probably find some of your Virginia folks passing through and settling in the Northwest Territory.
Hi, everyone, from Kansas! I won’t be able to get started until Friday afternoon because I have to work. I plan to focus on Indiana, which is where many of my family roots are (and where I was born). Looking forward to working with you. And thanks to those who volunteered their leadership!

Looking forward to having you join us later today Andrea - one record or 1,000 it all helps.
Hi Andrea! I'll be doing some work on Indiana too. I live 7 miles from there, with roots in IN and IL :)

Hi, Pamela! I am going to start by working on Find A Grave errors in Indiana, since I've worked with a lot of those in my own profiles. What part of Indiana? I'm from northern, with ancestors from there and southern Michigan. The Zuerchers are primarily from Ohio.

My family settled right on the border in northern Indiana into Illinois. Family names are Hansen, Eicher and Medaris. They moved back and forth a few times, with farms they rented on (my guess) bad swamp land. Lol. I like to work on clearing up names and duplicate family members. I try not to get too deep into other people's profiles, so I start with orphaned ones.
