The multiple personalities of Barry Humphries AO CBE, and other characters devised by him.

Wikipedia: Dame Edna Everage.

Originally conceived as a dowdy Moonee Ponds housewife who caricatured Australian suburban complacency and insularity, Dame Edna Everage has evolved over four decades to become a satire of stardom – a gaudily dressed, acid-tongued, egomaniacal, internationally fêted Housewife "Gigastar".

Wikipedia : Sir Les Patterson.

Obese, lecherous and offensive, Patterson is Dame Edna Everage's exact opposite: she is female, refined, Protestant and from Melbourne; he is male, uncouth, Roman Catholic and from Sydney.

Wikipedia: Sandy Stone.

Humphries describes Sandy, originally called Dusty, as an "elderly, childless man" living in the suburbs of Melbourne.
Described by John Betjeman as "this decent man from the suburbs", Stone is one of Humphries' more enduring characters.

While not a character played by Humphries, the character "Barrington Bradman Bing McKenzie" was a product of his fertile and often outrageous imagination. Originating as a comic strip character in the British satirical magazine Private Eye, Barry "Bazza" McKenzie was brought to the large screen by singer, television personality, character actor, and variety entertainer Barry Crocker.
