- Errata (from an unnumbered page that appears immediately after the Title page of this book, in the "hathitrust" location.)
- Page 11, third line, rope walk should read tannery, and in the eighth line cordage and cables should read leather.
- Page 12, the last line but one should read tannery, instead of rope walk. This was the first tannery in the colonies.
- Page 19, eighteenth line, Sam Skelton did not return to England. He left Salem after the death of his father and settled in Charlestown.
- Page 241, twenty-second line, "wife and two daughters" should read "wife, three daughters and one son".
