The Ilston Book

The Ilston Book was the record of the Baptist congregation started by the Rev. John Myles in 1649 Wales. Myles and his congregation later migrated to Plymouth Colony, where they founded the town of Swansea. The book contains records from seventeenth century Wales and then later records from the eighteenth century in Swansea.

The original book is at Brown University in Providence, but is not available for public view.

B. G. Owens made a transcription, but it was not widely disseminated and is not currently available online.

The FamilySearch library made microfilm images of the original, but they can only be viewed from a location with "key access" to FamilySearch holdings, such as a Family History Center or an affiliate library of the Family Search Library.
