Introduction to the Lenni Lenape (Delaware) Team
Welcome to the Lenni Lenape (Delaware) Team!
This team of the Native Americans Project works to add and improve profiles of the Lenni-Lenape (Delaware) people. Team members take primary responsibility for relevant profiles or family groups and work on merging duplicates, cleaning up profiles, adding sources, removing incorrect information and offer research assistance as needed. The scope of the team is pre-contact to present day.
How to Join the Team
- First join the Native Americans Project, being sure to follow the project How to Join instructions. Also be sure to express your interest in participating on the Lenni Lenape (Delaware) Team.
- When you receive the project badge, add the line [[Category:Lenni Lenape (Delaware) Team]] to the text area of your profile page (above the ==Biography== section header). This will add you to the list of participants on the Lenni Lenape (Delaware) Team Category page.
- Add the Native_Americans, Delaware and Lenape tags to your G2G Feed to follow conversations and ask questions.
- You are also encouraged to join the WikiTree Native Americans Google Group for communication.
Team Goals
Any improvements you can make to Delaware/Lenape profiles are welcome. Our specific team goals include:
- Adding new profiles of Delaware/Lenape not currently in the WikiTree.
- Identifying duplicate profiles and merging them into the lowest number.
- Improving profiles so they each have:
- appropriate sticker or template displayed.
- all relevant categories added.
- at least one documented source.
- a properly sourced, well-written narrative Biography, using the WikiTree Style Guide, that is cleaned up from any GEDOM junk, post-merge text clutter, formatting errors, etc.
- Identifying reliable resources for Delaware/Lenape genealogy and research and adding them to appropriate profiles or free-space pages.
Profiles Sticker
Use the Native American Sticker for profiles not requiring Native Americans Project Protection.
To place the sticker add this code: {{Native American Sticker|tribe=Lenape}}
below the ==Biography== heading line of the profile.

Could you please take a look at this profile: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/McEwin-223
It contains a bunch of background about the Lenape that should be placed on a freespace page but I'm not sure which one. Perhaps you've started a backgrounder freespace page about the Lenape? If so, be sure to categorize it so it shows up in the appropriate NA category structure. Many thanks.
Sorry, just now seeing this (not on TL for this profile) - there's only a dormant page at the moment (https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:Native_Americans:_Delaware_Nation). I think it'd be best to create a new "About" page under the NA Project - will get on it, and then post a reply on McEwin-223 w/ the new link.
Cheers, Bob
There's now a category for team members: Lenni Lenape (Delaware) Team. If you'd like to add it to your profile, you'll show up on the "list of team members" (aka the category page).
More to come as this page is revived.

I've set up a new "About the Lenape (Delaware)" page that could use some further building out if you're interested:

Cheers,
Bob
I put a comment on a couple of profiles that have background info on the tribe that could be incorporated into the "about" page...we'll see if we get any takers.
