In the 1840 census William (W D Coleman) held 4 enslaved people in Jefferson, Mississippi.[3]

In the 1850 Slave Schedule William Coleman (not certain this is the same person) held 63 enslaved people in District 1, Claiborne, Mississippi, United States.[4]

Research Note

The William Coleman in the 1850 Slave Schedule has enslaved 63 people in Claiborne County which is not far from Jefferson County. However, most of the documentation for William D. Coleman is in Jefferson County, so I am suspect that the one in Claiborne might be another William Coleman. Needs more research.
