Needs Work
Need Research
- Is George Cribb (Bristol, England) the right father for James and other siblings? Conflicting baptism information for James.
- Richard James Phelan (1837-1904) - obit says he is from Limerick Co, Ireland and there is an interesting military story there if we can find more sources. Although Obit says he is from Limerick, the passenger list says "Tippy". No births in Limerick of the right time, but there is one in Tipperary in 1837 and with father's name of James (referred to in his marriage record) therefore I believe this to be the right Richard Phelan. He also had a brother Thomas. No military records found yet though.
- Robert Caddan (abt.1807-abt.1839) - Birth: A lot of tree's online have his birth in Cheshire and his parents as Hugh and Catherine. I am not 100% sure if this is the right Robert though. There is a newspaper article that implies he is actually Irish - "THE 50th OR QUEEN'S OWN" "During the Thirties, at least, the personell of the 50th was chiefly Irish, many like Cadden, Alexander and Monham - belonging to the North" - It would be helpful to find his Military record in England to see if it can shed any light on his place of birth or parents.
- Moi Jam Gwai (abt.1870-), nephew of Quong Tart, is known to have joined his uncle in Sydney around 1882, & to have worked at the "Xinxing Inn" in Sydney (雪梨新兴栈), but needs to be located in Australian records.
- James Ironside not sure if his second marriage to Eleanor Oke actually took place? His first wife was still alive and the 1835 date comes from James Ironside' death certificate, and that was completed by his son with Eleanor.
- Haven't been able to confirm the marriage in NSW BDM Marriages search, trying different names, (Ironside, Ironsides, Oke, Oak). It seems possible she just assumed his name? Divorce was prohibitively expensive, unusual, and frowned upon. James Ironside's first wife was still living. I assume Eleanor Oke and James Ironside did not marry. I think attitudes in New South Wales were perhaps more relaxed than elsewhere.
- Robert George Dawson (1876-) last heard of in WA in 1935 according to an article at time of mother's death. I don't think he is Find A Grave: Memorial #152629900 as wrong age and died before mother.
- Still don't have a name for the uncle of Quong Tart who came to Australia with him.
- Thomas Heggie (1819-abt.1884) - appears to have had a second wife and children attached and his death details altered since I added some. I have left an additional research note on his profile. I don't think the evidence is their to support the one who died in NZ was of the parents listed
Need Profiles Created
- Nathaniel (Southworth) Southard (1769-1840) (CC5 Heggie) has siblings, their kids/etc that can be added (American) Tree with sources on Ancestry and Familysearch, also I've added the first round of children Evans-3182 19:12, 24 January 2023 (UTC)
- Rebecca Martha (Wicks) Marsh (1886-1975) needs her spouse's parents and families added, as well as her own Mother. I added the mother, but was not confident in adding her first husband's parents. They are not named in any sources. He just has a birth index (that I could find). Family Search names his parents as George and Alice.Selvaggio-84 02:59, 25 January 2023 (UTC)
- John Smallacombe (abt.1842-) needs his other spouse added and ten of his children. Their sources are on his profile.
Need Sources/Bio

Married 4 Oct 1829 Airdrie. All needs verification with reputable sources.
- Isabel (Ruddach) Ironside (bef.1738-) - Have added sources I could find, but not overly confident with early 1700 records, will need bio and any further research
- George Ironside (bef.1737-1812) - Have added sources I could find, but not overly confident with early 1700 records, will need bio and any further research Does this need further work?
- James Walker (bef.1736-1814) - Have added sources I could find, but not overly confident with early 1700 records, will need bio and any further research
- Elizabeth Andrew (bef.1747-abt.1829) - Have added sources I could find, but not overly confident with early 1700 records, will need bio and any further research

- Otto Peters and his brother Walter Peters caught the ship Claymore and headed from Adelaide to Darwin in July 1872 ready to set up a retail store just before the Overland Telegraph system was completed in August 1872. They were uncles of Oliver "Otto" Peters Heggie Sue Wyatt
- Jane Hewitt was the daughter of convict parents, she was only 13 years old when she married James Cribb in 1820 and 15 when their first child was born. She had 12 children with all birth certificates indicating James was their father. The last 3 children however were conceived and born after James died in 1841. DNA analysis is underway to identify the father/s of the last three children. (5 degrees from Dora). Veronica (Coat) Williams
- James Marsh & Elizabeth (Scott) Marsh (descendants of James Bourn) are listed as buried at Lone Graves in Forbes NSW, which lists only 3 memorials (I guess it's interesting as that's the lowest number I've ever see). I've requested this is added to Categorization. Ronald Bradford
- Jane Starkey - Mother of Jane Hewitt, is reported in the Chester Chronicle 1803 as having two brothers and a brother in law who had been hanged. (6 degrees from Dora) Veronica (Coat) Williams
- William Rumsey (1815-) went bankrupt which probably is why he moved from Coventry to Leamington Spa Buckle-52 10:16, 20 January 2023 (UTC) He remarried after the death of his first wife and was found living in Millbrook, Southampton next to my relatives Stephen Buckle (abt.1816-1889) Buckle-52 11:19, 21 January 2023 (UTC)
- Research by a historian of the Mei family in Toishan, Mei Weiqiang, and information gathered within the family, also suggests that Quong Tart was married (in absentia) to a Chinese woman and that one, perhaps, two sons were adopted in his name. (Source: Kate Bagnall, ‘The transational Chinese family in Australia’ ‘New migration histories’—Australian in the World seminar series University of Melbourne 18 September 2013, ) Danielle

- Adelaide Eliza Ironside (1831-1867) was not the only surviving child of James Ironside as stated on her death notice; she had half-siblings and her parents had separated. Wiki-ID needed!

- James Marsh, of Marshdale,Eugowra, has cut from a gumtree near Mandagery Creek and the Lachlan River the record left by the explorer George W. Evans, June 15, 1815, and the same has been forwarded to the Sydney Museum. This tree stood as a record of exploration farthest west for two years, until Surveyor Oxley, who made it his starting-point, went still farther down the Lachlan, was blocked by flood waters, and reported an inland sea.
- Catherine (Strain) Foggo OAM (1907-2002) - I received a warning "A child's death date (Strain-1456 died 2002) should not be more than 170 years after their father's birth date (Strain-1454 born 1831) . This would mean that even if the father was 70 when his child was born, the child lived to be over 100." The child lived to be 95 and was born to a very elderly father, so yes the lives of two people spanned 171 years.
- Joan Violet Sigrist (1929-1994) is 4 degree's from Adelaide Ironside, but was also Member of the Society of Australian Genealogists, and Cartographer for their systematic transcriptions of all Monumental Inscriptions at Rookwood Necropolis during the 1980s. All 50+ profiles that I have added, starting with Adelaide's maternal grandfather, are also within seven degrees of Dora! Lynne (Ardill) Byass
- After George Walker (1776-1829) died in 1829, his estate was supposed to be divided among his six children - 5 sons and 1 daughter. Apparently, the sons took over the running of the farm and the sister married and was given whatever dollar amount (the article says she got more than her brothers). She sued her brothers in 1862, a full 33 years later, because she felt she received less than her brothers. This is probably because she got money in 1829, but her brothers continued to profit off the farm because they were working it in the ensuing years. The article says she waited until after her mother died, but it was a brother that died; the mother lived another 8 years. If I am reading correctly, she lost the suit. Selvaggio-84 03:42, 26 January 2023 (UTC)
