In the Name of God Amen
I Henry Cannon of Maidenhead in the County of Berks Butcher being
of sound mind memory & understanding do publish & declare this to be my
last Will & Testament in manner & form following that is to say whereas
I am possessed & intitled unto a Freehold Estate consisting of a Butchers
Shop with the Yard Buildings & Appurt[enan]ces thereunto belonging in the
Town of Maidenhead & Parish of Cookham in the County of Berks & at
present in my own possession all which Freehold Estate I give devise and
bequeath unto my good Friends Edward Adams Inn Keeper & John
Higgs Farrier & Harness Maker late ^both of Maidenhead in the County of Berks
& the survivor of them & to the Heirs & Assigns of such survivor upon Trust-
to receive & take the Rents Issues & Profits thereof & thereout in the first place to
keep the said premises in good repair & in the next place to deduct & keep to
themselves all needful & necessary expences which the shall be at in the
execution of this my Will & the reminder thereof to pay & apply to the sole &
separate use & benefit of my loving Wife Elizabeth for & during the Term of
her natural life or so long as she continues a Widow & from & after her
decease or day of Marriage which of them shall first happen then upon
Trust in case my Children shall ^then severally attaind the age of twenty one
years to assign and convey the said Freehold Messuages or Tenement Land
Heredits & premises unto my Children Charles William and George or to such
of them as shall be living & to their Heirs & Assigns equally to be divided
between them share & share alike as Tenants in Common & not as joint
Tenants & in case either of iny said Children shall ^should happen to to die before my
said loving Wife or he Marriage shich of them shall first happen
leaving Issue of his body lawfully begotten then I do direct that the
share of him so dying shall be assigned & conveyed to him such Issue
equally share & share alike if more than one as Tenants in Common
no not as joint Tenants & if but one than to that Child only & to his or
her Heirs & as to all the rest residue & remainder of my Estate both Real &
Personal Debts which may be owing unto me at the time of my death
decease Stock in Trade ready Money Securities for Money Household
Goods & Furniture & all my Estate & Effects of what nature or kind
soever which I may die possessed of I give devise & bequeath unto
my good Friends Edward Adams & John Higgs & the survivor of them &
the Ex[ecut]ors & Adm[inistrat]ors of such survivor upon Trust that they the said Edward
Adams & John Higgs so & shall & soon as conveniently may be after my
decease take a particular Amount Schedule & [S...tary] thereof & after
paying my just Debts Funeral & Testamentary expences so permit & suffer
my beloved ^loving Wife Elizabeth to have the use Interest Posession Occupation &
payment ^enjoyment thereof during the Term of her natural life or so long as she
continue a Widow the better to enable her to bring up my several Children
& to place them out to sufficient Trades & Callings which I desire she will &
from & after the decease or day of Marriage which of them shall first
happen I give & bequeath the same unto & amongst all & every my Child
or Children as shall be living at the time of the decease or day of Marriage
of my said Wife equally amongst them share & share alike as Tenants
in Common & not as joint Tenants & in case either of my said Children
should happen to die before my said loving Wife or her Marriage leaving
Issue of his or their body lawfully begotten then I do wish that the share
of him or them so dying be paid & delivered to such Issue his or their Ex[ecut]ors
Adm[inistrat]ors equally share & share alike if more than one as Tenants in Common &
not as joint Tenants & if but one then to that one Child only Lastly I do
hereby maje ordain constitute and appoint the said Edward Adams & John
Higgs joint Ex[ecut]ors of this my Will hereby revoking all former Wills by me
made I declare this alone to be my last Will & Testament & I do hereby
direct & order that neither of them the said Edward Adams & John Higgs

shall be answerable or accountable for any Money Goods or Things which
may be [...] or lost unless it be by their Wilful neglect & that
neither of them shall be answerable or accountable for the acts of
the other but each for his own acts & deeds only In Witness whereof
I have hereunto set my hand & seal this fifth day of March one
thousand eight hundred & eight Signed sealed published & declared by
the said Henry Cannon the Testator as & for his last Will & Testament in
the presence of us who in his presence & in the presence of each other & at
his request have subscribed our names as Witnesses to the same

By this Codicil in addition to my last Will some time since made
& signed my desire is that James Ebsworth of Coleshall in the County
of Berks Salesman be one of my Ex[ecut]ors to my last Will in addition to

seal this thirteeth day of November one thousand eight hundred and

W[ors]hipful Stephen Sushington Dr of Laws Surr[ogate] by the Oath of Edward
Adams one of the Ex[ecut]ors to whom Adm[inistrati]on was granted hav[in]g been
first sworn duly to Admin[iste]r Power reserved to John Higgs the other
Ex[ecut]or & also to James Ebsworth the Ex[ecut]or named in the Codicil -/-
