In the name of God: Amen I Roger Gregorie of
EastStocke^with within the countie of Lyncolne gent sicke in bodye but of good and perfect
remembrance thankes be to god for the same. Doe make constitute and ordaine this my
last will and Testament wherein is declared my full and whole minde in manner & forme
followinge. First I give and bequeath my Soule unto Almightie god my Creator
Redeemer and moste mercifull Saviour and sanctifier trusting assuredlie to be saved by
the meritts of his pretious deathe and passion of my Saviour Christe And my bodie I
commende to the earthe to be interred or buried within the parisje church of Gainesburghe

by the discretion of mine Execut[ors] and Supervisors : And as touchinge my landes and worldlie
substance wherewith our lorde hath endued me. I give and bequeath unto the poore people of the
Towne and parishe of Gainesburghe twentie nobles to be distributed and paide at the discretion of
mine Execut[ors] Also I will give and bequeath unto Isabell my good and loveinge wiefe the somme of
two hundred poundes of lawfull Englishe monie in full contentac[i]on satisfaction and discharge of all
such righte parte portion and purpartie as she the saide Isabell hath or at anie tyme hereafter
shall or maie have challenge or demande of all or anie my goodes and chattells moveable & unmoveable
ymplement[es] of howse houshold stuffe utensells or necessaries whatsoever due proper or belonginge
unto me the saide Roger Gregorie at the tyme of my deathe or at anie tyme after and which saide
somme of two hundred poundes she the saide Isabell hath consented and faithfullie promised and
also given me her hande thereuppon to accept and not to make anie challenge or demande to anie
other of my goodes and chattells ymplement[es] of howse houshold stuffe and other necessaries aforesaid
Also I give and bequeath unto William Gregorie myne eldest Sonne and heire apparant the somme
of three thowsande and fouer hundreth poundes to be had received and taken of the monies due
oweinge unto me by John Rotherham William Hickman and Robert Hubbard Esquieres out of w[hic]h
somme of three thowsande fouer hundred poundes my will is that the saide William shall give
and paie unto Thomas Gregory one other of my Sonnes six hundred poundes Also I doe give and
bequeath unto Anne Gregory my daughter the somme of six hundred poundes paide unto
her the said Anne by the Execut[ors] of this my last will and testament when she the saide Anne
shall accomplishe and come unto thage of eightene yeeres or els to be married whiche shall firste
and next happen after my decease. Item I give unto my daughter Anne the somme of two
hundred poundes over and besides the somme of six hundred pound[es] alredie before hand given and
bequeathed unto her to be paide unto her by the handes of mine Execut[ors] within one yeare next
after she shalbe married or when she shall accomplishe and come unto thage of one & twentie
yeares Also I give unto Thomas Gregorie of my younger Sonnes the somme of two hundred
poundes in full recompence satisfaction and allowance of all his x x x childes portion of all &
singuler my goodes and chattells. Item I give and bequeath unto Richarde Gregorie one other
of my younger Sonnes the somme of two hundred poundes in like discharge and satisfaction of all
his charges childes parte and portion. Item I give unto Francis Gregorie one other of my
younger Sonnes the somme of one hundred poundes in like satisfaction of all his whole childes
portion. Item I give and bequeath unto Isabell my loveinge wiefe one hundred poundes over
and besides the saide somme of two hundred pound[es] alredie bequeathed unto her . Item I give and
bequeath to Mary and Frances Gregorie daughters of William Gregory my Sonne and heire
apparant the somme of two hundred poundes equallie to be devided betwixt them. Item I give and
bequeath unto everie one of my brother Larke his children three poundes six shillinges eighte
pence (except one of his Sonnes which is my godsonne) to whome I give five poundes . Item I
give and bequeath unto the saide Anne my daughter fortie poundes in golde and three of my best
peeces of plate . Item to everie one of the children of John Oliver late of Gainsburghe
deceased fortie shillinges a peece. Item to everie of my godchildren three shillinges fouer
pence a peece . Item I give unto Margaret Graye my servante tenn poundes . Item I give
unto Frances Stockwell my servante Fortie Shillinges . Item I give unto Gennet Farmerie
my servante fortie shillinges . Item I give unto Thomas Hudsonne and Elizabeth Hudson my
servantes to either of them fortie shillinges . Item I will and bequeath unto Alexander
Fox my servante twenyie shillinges Iem I will that William Hill Tennante and servante
into me the saide Roger Gregorie shall have abated yearelie of his rente the somme of
twentie shillinges of his rent for the landes and Tenements he hath from me & for and dureing
all the tyme that he shall well and faithfullie serve the saide William Gregorie my Sonne
and heire apparante . Item I give unto Thomas Jeofferson my servante three poundes
six shillinges eight pence . Item I will and bequeath unto William Godfrey gentleman
and Hughe Towers gentleman and William Brownelowe to everie of them two olde angel[es]
in golde to make eache of them a ringe . Item I bequeath unto my daughter Elizabeth three
olde rialls of golde And to my daughter Margerie other three olde ryalls in golde . Item

Item I give unto Roger Gregorie my younger Sonne all my messuages landes tenementes and
hereditamentes with thappurtenanc[es] in Mysterton in the Countie of Nott[ingham] and one close in west Stockw[i]<sup?th</sup>
called the little Pryor Close conteyninge twelve acres or thereaboutes to him and to his heires for ever
Item I give to my Sonne Richarde all my landes Tenement[es] and hereditament[es] in westStockwith afore=
saide (the little Pryor Close onelie excepted) to him and his heires for ever . Item I give unto my
daughter Anne and to her heires of her bodie lawfullie to be begotten all and singular my landes tenem[en]tes
and hereditament[es] in Eastlounde and Craslounde [2] in the countie of Lyncolne And likewise the reverc[i]on
and reverc[i]ons of all and singular my landes tenementes and hereditamentes in o[ver] Catton and nether
Catton[3] in the countie of Yorke or either of them And for defaulte of such yssue of her body lawfully
^to be begotten Then my will is that all the premisses mentioned to be in Eastloundes Craslounde and over Catton
and nether Catton shalbe goe and enure to the righte heires of me the saide Roger thelder for evermore.
And at touching all the Residue of my goodes and chattells not before devised and bequeathed my
funerall expenses and debtes discharged I give and bequeath them unto William Gregorie & Roger
Gregorie my sonnes whome I likewise make and ordaine Executors of this my last will and
Testament Lastlie I will that mr William Cavendishe and mr Roger Dallizon Esquiers shalbe
Supervisors of this my saide last will and testament to whome I doe give the somme of twentie
shillinges in golde equallie to be devided betweene them for their paines and travailles in and aboute
the same. In witnes whereof I have hereunto put my hande and Seale [...] the thirteth
day of Julie in the yeare of our Lord god One thowsand five hundred ninetie and Eighte
and in the forteth yeare of the raigne of our Soveraigne Lady Elizabeth by the grace of god
of England France and Ireland Queene defendor of the faith etc Sealed and Published
in the presence of William Godfrey Christopher Thornton John Jackson Clerke William Lambert
