This is the last Will and Testament of me Thomas
Roadley Wale of Syston in the County of Leicester Gentleman (that is to say)
I give and devise to my wife Dorothy Wale for and during her natural
Life One Annuity Yearly Rent Charge or Annual Sum of Twenty Pounds of
lawful British Money to be yearly issuing and payable out of my Messuage
or Tenement with the Outbuildings Wood Yard and other the Appurtenances
thereof in the Parish of Saint Mary in the Town of Leicester in the said
County of Leicester and now in the Tenure or Occupation of my Son
James Wale and all my other Estate in the said Town of Leicester free
from and clear of all Taxes Charges Assessments Deductions and Outgoeings
whatsoever and is in or by equal half yearly Portions on the Feastdays of The
Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary and Saint Michael the Archangel
The first Portion whereof to be paid on such one of those Feastdays as shall
next arrive or happen after my Decease And I give and grant unto my
said Wife all such or the like Remedies and Powers for recovering and
obtaining the said Annuity Yearly Rent Charge or annual Sum and every or
any Portion or Part thereof by Distress and Sale in case the same shall
be unpaid for the Space of thirty Days after becoming due as Landlords in
England in General have by Law for recovery of Rents in Arrear And subject
and without Prejudice to the said Annuity Yearly Rent Charge or annual Sum
and the said Remedies and Powers for recovering or obtaining the same
I give and devise my said Messuage or Tenement with the said
Outbuildings Wood Yard and other Appurtenances thereof and all other
my said real Estate in the said Town of Leicester unto and to the Use
of my said Son James Wale his Heirs and Assigns for ever I also
give and devise to my said Wife for and during her natural Life
one other Annuity Yearly Rent Charge or Annual Sum of twenty
Pounds of lawful British Money to be yearly issuing and
payable out of my Messuage or Tenement in Syston aforesaid now
in my own Occupation and my three Closes of Grass Land in the
Parish Lordship or Liberties of Syston aforesaid now in the several
Tenures or Occupations of Robert Pickard and my son William Wale
with their respective Appurtenances and all other my Real Estate
in Syston aforesaid or the Parish Lordship or Liberties thereof free
from and clear of all Taxes Charges Assessments Deductions and

Outgoings whatsoever and in or by equal half Yearly Portions on the said

last mentioned Annuity Yearly Rent Charge or annual Sum and the said
Remedies and powers for recovering and obtaining the same I give and
devise my said Messuage or Tenement in Syston aforesaid and my said
three Closes of Grass Land in the Parish Lordship or Liberties of Syston
aforesaid with their respective Appurtenances and all other my said
real Estate in Syston aforesaid or the Parish Lordship or Liberties thereof
unto and to the Use of my said Son William Wale his Heirs and Assigns
forever - I give and bequeath unto my said Wife my
Household Goods and Furniture of every description Also I give
and bequeath unto my son Thomas Roadley Wale the sum of one
hundred Pounds of lawful British Money and hereby direct the same
to be paid to him by my hereinafter appointed Executirx and Executors
within twelve Calendar Months next after my dcease And I give
and bequeath unto and equally between my said two sons James Wale
and William Wale my Leasehold Messuage Tenement or Inn in Melton
Mowbray in the said County of Leicester called or known by the Name or
Sign of the Bishop Blay and now in the Tenure or Occupation of
[blank] Littlewood together with all the Rights Members
Privileges and Appurtenances of the same and also all my Goods,
Chattels, Cattle Stock, Monies, Securities for Money and other personal
Estate and Effects whatsoever an wheresoever not herein before by me
otherwise given or bequeathed or disposed of but subject nevertheless to and
charged with the Payments of all such Debts as I shall or may justly owe
at the Time of my Decease my Funeral Expences and the charges of proving
this my last Will and Testament and all other Expences incidental to or

attending the same Also I appoint my said Wife and my said Sons
James Wale and William Wale joint Executrix and Executors hereof and I
hereby revoke and make void all Wills and Testaments by me at any Time
or Times heretofore made In Witness whereof I the said Thomas Roadley
Wale the Testator have to each of the first two Sheets of this my last Will
and Testament contained in three Sheets of Paper set my Hand and to
this third and last thereof my Hand and Seal this fifteenth
day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred
and twenty two

Let a probat be made to James Wale of Leicester in the County of Leicester Surveyor
and Builder and William Wale of Syston in the County of Leicester Butcher two of the
Executors named in the Will of the deceased with power of making the like grant to
Dorothy Wale of Syston aforesaid the Widow the Executrix when she shall apply for the
same
They having beed duly sworn as well to the faithful Execution of the Will as that
the goods chattels and Credits of the said deceased without deducting any debts
due and owing by the deceased therefrom do not amount in Value to the sum
of Eight hundred pounds Before me
