This is the last Will and testament
of me Thomas Roadly of Syston in the County of Leicester Yeoman
Being aged and weak in Body But of Sound and disposing mind
memory and understanding praised be God for thesame / My
will and desire is to be decently inter[r]ed at Syston aforesaid at the
Discretion of my Executor herein after named As to such worldly
Estate wherewth it hath pleased God to bless me I give and dispose
thereof as follows First I will and appoint that all the Debts
which shall be justly owing by me at the time of my Decease as
also my funeral Expences and theCharges of the Execution of this
my Will be fully paid and satisfied And / Charged and chargeable
therewith / I give devise and bequeath as well All that my Messuage
or Tenement now divided into three Tenements or Dwellings with their
appurtenances scituate standing and being in Syston aforesaid and
now in the several possessions of John Thirk, Francis Ro[d?]le and
Benjamin Clewer And also All those my two Closes or inclosed Grounds
with their appurtenances lying and being in Syston aforesaid called
the Isle Moor Close and Lammas Close and now in the possession of my
Grandson Thomas Waldin and all other my real as personal Estates of
what nature or kind soever in Syston aforesaid or elsewhere / Which I
have not heretofore Conveyed or disposed of / unto my Son in Law John
Wale for and during the Term of his natural life Without Impeachment
of Waste / Except voluntary waste in the Buildings / and from and after
his Decease Then to the use and Behoof and Benefit of my Daughter
Ann Wale wife of the said John Wale and her assigns for and during the
Term of her natural life dispunishable of waste / Except voluntary in the
Buildings / And from and after theseveral Deaths and Deceases of the survivor of
the Then to the use Behoof and Benefit of my Grand daughter Alice
Waldin wife of the said Thomas Waldin her heirs Executors Adm[inistrat]ors and
assigns To whom I give Devise and bequeath thesame and every part

and parcell to her and them accordingly And I do hereby nominate
and appoint mysaid Son in Law John Wale sole Executor of this my
last Will and Testament hereby revoking all former and other Will
and Wills by me at any time or times heretobefore or lately made
In Witness whereof I the said Thomas Roadly the Testator
have set my hand and Seal this Thirteenth Day of August in the
year of our Lord One thousand seven hundred and eighty one

Let a probat be made to John Wale the sole Executor within named
he being duly sworn as well to the faithful Execution of the Will as
that the Testator's Good. Chattels and Credits do not amount in
value to the sum of Five Pounds
