In the name of God Amen I William Mattock Sen.r of the
parish of Steeple Ashton in the County of Wilts Carpenter being weak in Body but
of sound mind memory and disposeing Understanding (praise be to God for the same)
do make this my last Will and Testament in manner and form Following
First I Give and bequeath unto my son William Mattock all that my dwelling house
that I now live in with the Furnace and Coolers and Ten Tunn of Timber with one
moiety or half of my Working tools Also I Give and bequeath unto my said son William
Mattock the sum of Six pounds to purchase my Grandson William Mattock's live in my
said dwelling house. Also I Give and bequeath unto my Daughter Mary the Wife of
William Brown the sum of Twenty five pounds of good and lawful money of England
besides the Twenty Five pounds she has had Already. the s[ai]d sum of Twenty Five pounds
to be paid her (by my Executor and Executrixes herein after Named) within one Twelve
months after my decease. Also I Give and bequeath unto my daughter Sarah Mattock
the sum of Fifty pounds of lawfull money of England to be paid her within Twelve
months after my decease. Also I Give and bequeath unto my daughter Elizabeth Mattock
all that my Messuage or Tenement now in the possession of Thomas Howele during
her life. Also I Give and bequeath unto my son George Mattock all that my plott
or peice of Ground held by Lease under the Lord Norris during the Term of the said Lease
Also I Give and bequeath unto my said son George Tenn Tunns of Timber with the Other
moiety or half my Working Tooles and the sum of Thirty pounds of lawfull money to be
paid him in Twelve months after my decease as above Also I give unto my son Robert Mattock
the sum of Fifteen pounds to be paid as above Also I Give and bequeath unto my son John
Mattock the like sum of Fifteen pounds to be paid him him in Twelve months after my decease
Lastly all the rest residue and remainder of my Goods Chattles and Stock not before given
I Give and bequeath the same unto my son George Mattock and my daughters Sarah Mattock
and Elizabeth Mattock whom I do make Executor and Executrixes Joyntly of this my last
Will and Testament and I appoint and desire the Rev[eren]d. M.r Avery Thompson and M.r William
Silverthorn to take upon them to Act as Trustees and as a Token of my love I Give each of them
the sum of one Guinea. In Witness whereof I have to this my last Will and Testament
written and Contained on one side of a sheet of Paper Set my hand and Seal the thirty
first day of October in the Year of Our Lord One thousand Seven hundred and Forty.
