This is a transcription of the will of Thomas Snooke, Yeoman of Urchfont, Wiltshire.[1]
The will was written on 18 October 1737 and proved at Market Lavington, Wiltshire on the 22 May 1740, with administration being granted to Thomas Snook the son.
Spelling, punctuation and line breaks are as per the register copy. Capital F is rendered as F rather than ff. Abbreviations are expanded in [square brackets]. Paragraph breaks (where added) and bold text for names are my own for ease of reading.

In The Name of God Amen I Thomas Snooke of Urchfont
in the County of Wilts yeoman being of a sound mind and memory do make ordain and
declare this to be my last Will and Testament and to be in man[n]er and forme following (Revoking
disanulling and making void all other Will or Wills or any other Testamentary writings by me
at any time heretofore made) First I Give unto my Son Vincent Snooke of Urchfont the sum[m]e of
Five Shillings to be paid unto him within one month after my Decease by my Executor. herein
mentioned I give unto my Son Thomas Snooke of Urchfont or his Executors and Assigns All those my
two Leasehold grounds Scituate lying and being in Urchfont aforesaid one of them called Bullnapps=
Coppice the other called the four acres with all my right Tithe and Interest therein I Give unto my
Grandson William Snooke of Urchfont my Great Bible immediately after my Decease I Give unto my
Grandaughter Sarah the Daughter of my Son Thomas Snooke the sume of Fourty Pounds when she shall
attain to the age of Twenty years to be paid her by my Executor herein mentioned I Give unto my
Grandson Thomas Snooke of Urchfont the sume of Ten pounds when he shall attain to the age of Fifteen
years to be paid him by my Executor. herein mentioned I give to my Grandson Harry Snooke of
Urchfont the sum[m]e of Ten pounds when he shall attain to the age of Twenty years to be paid to him by
my Executor. herein mentioned I Give unto my Grandaughter Sarah Daughter of my Son Robert
Snooke the sume of Ten Pounds when she shall attain to the age of Twenty years to be paid
her by my Executor. herein mentioned And my will is farther such That if my Son Thomas Snooke of
Urchfont shall ever be in possession of two Cossitts (as his life is in, In Reversion after my Son
Vincent Snooke) otherwise Called Brundsons living now in the possession of my Son Vincent Snooke or
Otherwise shall receive of my Son Vincent Snooke the sume of One Hundred Pounds as by an Article
of Agreement made and Concluded between me and my two Sons Vincent and Thomas Snooke as doth
by the said writing appear Then my will is that my Son Thomas Snooke within Six months after he
Shall be in Possession of Brunsdons living or of the above said Hundred pounds he then shall pay unto
my Son Robert Snooke the [erased] Sume of Fifty Pounds Also I give to my Son Robert Snooke
the Further Sume of Five Shillings to be paid to him within one month next after my Decease
by my Executor. herein mentioned I Give unto George Andross, William Barness, Daniel Finn, John Coles
Edward West, John Reeves, Michael Willis, Robert Plank, Stephen Burgess, William Stockwell, Joyce
Hutchings, Sarah Gilbert, Anne Banks, Mary Burgess, the widow. of John Wilshire, Mary Heggence,
Emme Giddings, Jane Wilshire, Mary Cruse and Sarah Cooper each a Loaf of Bread of the value of
one shilling and my will is that each of them to have the Loaf when they comes back from
my internment at Church of my Executor All the rest and residue of my Estate, Moneys, Goods,
Chattles, and effects whatsoever ( after my Debts, Legacys and Funeral Expenses are paid I give
unto my Son Thomas Snooke of Urchfont whome I make my full whole and Sole Executor to
this my last Will and Testament In witness whereof I have hereunto Sett my hand and Seal
this Eighteenth day of October One Thousand Seven hundred and Thirty Seven and in the Eleventh
year of the Reigne of our Sovereign Lord George the Second of Great Brittain France and Ireland King
Defender of the Faith and so forth.
