Information: The Hebrew Association of Tientsin (THA) acquired the land for the first Jewish cemetery in Tientsin circa 1904, after the first wave of Russian-Jewish settlers. The 1917 revolution in Russian caused a rapid surge of 500-600 Jewish families in Tientsin. Those who could afford it went on to the United States and Europe via Shanghai. Those, without documents or the means to travel further remained in Tientsin.
The cemetery no longer exists due to the destruction done during the "Cultural Revolution".
