I've decided to try an experiment. Because so many of my followed surnames generate lots of entries in the weekly "Family Feed", I sometimes miss actions on profiles that are on my watchlist. So I've moved them all to this page, which means my family feed will be mostly watchlist activity.

Haven't deleted them from my profile, but working to get them all on this page.

Annnd... no. Removing surnames from my followed tags doesn't help because I have too many high-traffic space pages on my watchlist that flood the report in the weekly family activity feed. And switching to a project tag flooded my daily G2G feed. <sigh> So... I had replaced Martin with Templates. I think I'll either add Martin back in or pick projects with fewer posts! ~ Noland-165 11:43, 22 February 2018 (EST)

Actually. Maybe it will help. The weekly Family Activity Feed includes any profile with a surname I follow. If I followed no surnames, it would (I think) list only profiles from my watchlist.

Paternal:
  • ALDRIDGE - Added before December 2015.
    • 6x-gr-granddaughter of John Aldridge, born before 1702 in Virginia or Maryland
  • AWBREY - Added before December 2015.
    • 7x-gr-granddaughter of John Awbrey, born in Wales, came to Virginia in 1665
  • CHAUVIN - Added before December 2015.
  • DIXON - Added before December 2015.
  • dixson
    • brick wall between my 4x-gr-grand John Dixon and the family rumour of a Dixon-Hollingsworth connection (maybe Hollingsworth-1343). See also Dickson (as spelled in the transcript of the will of Zachariah Dixon, my gr-gr-gr-grandfather)
  • EPPINETTE - Added before December 2015.
  • HALL - Added before December 2015.
  • HARRINGTON - Added before December 2015.
    • The mother of Fannie Dixon (my 3x-gr-grand) was for sure a Harrington (Harrington-1539), and I'm fairly confident of the Harrington line for a few more generations. But it gets a bit squirrely around Thomas Sr (Harrington-428), my 7x-gr-grand.
  • HARRIS - Added before December 2015.
    • good back to Edward Harris (7x-gr-grand), and his dad Thomas. The wives, not so much.
  • HOLLINGSWORTH - Added before December 2015.
  • MARTIN - Added before December 2015.
    • my paternal grandmother's maiden name
  • NOLAND - Added before December 2015.
  • knowland ~ nowland ~ NOLAN
    • pretty solid, albeit circumstantial, back to Philip Noland-120 and his wife, and his dad/granddad (but not at all their added wives/ancestors)
  • PEYTON - Added before December 2015.
Maternal:
  • BRIEN - Added before December 2015.
    • gr-gr-gr-granddaughter of Elisha Brien, born in Virginia, married (2) in Tennessee in 1818; Elisha's father John changed his name from Bryan to Brien (his father was William Bryan, my 5x-gr-grand)
  • BRYAN - Added Dec 16, 2017.
  • GAULDING - Added before December 2015.
    • Lula Gaulding m A.F. Watkins. Solid to her parents (aka brick walls)
  • MACDONALD - Added before December 2015.
  • NEAL - Added before December 2015.
    • John Henry Neal (Neal-865), born 1812 in Virginia, is my 3x-gr-grandfather on mom's side, and a brick wall
  • WATKINS - Added before December 2015.
    • my Watkins brick wall: John Watkins of Powhatan County, Virginia (my 4x-gr-grand)
  • WYNNE - Added before December 2015.
    • Jane (Wynn) Owen, my 5x-gr-grandmother & brick wall

BUT. If I don't have any surnames in my followed tags, any people profiles that show up in my weekly family feed should be for profiles I manage. Maybe that will help me when I need to catch up on what's been happening.
