Father ‘s home. There was much country home made food items such as: vegetables from gardens, desserts too many to name, fresh and wild meats and biscuits , cornbread, home made rolls and bread and drinks to many to list. Water was from a dug well and you had to drink from a dipper or handout gore. No one went away hunger. After which the elderly men sat in rocking chairs and chewed tobacco and smoked. The younger group would pitch horse shoes and play softball in the cow pasture.The bases and home plate were dried up solid cow patties. This memory occurred when was 8 to 12 years old . Today it is sad to say that we do not have our family reunions however we visit cemeteries of the ones that then attended the Tomlin Country Family Reunion.
