The ship, Tornado set sail from Liverpool, England on 7 Oct 1868 and arrived in the Port Phillip Heads on 31 Dec 1868. However due to illness on board the ship did not dock until 1 Jan 1869 in Hobson's Bay, Victoria. After an inspection by the Immigration Board the ship was returned to quarantine and not released again until 9 Jan 1869 however more cases of fever were diagnosed and the passengers appeared to have been sent back to quarantine.
