Will of Robert Coggrave of Hemingborough 21st March 1687 [=1688]

In the name of God Amen March the twenty-first Anno Domini 1687 I Robert Coggrave of Hemingborough in the County of York Cordwinder do being sick and weak in body but of perfect memory praise be to God for same, do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament in manner following

First and principally I commend my soul to Almighty God my Creator assuredly believing by the merits of Jesus Christ my blessed Saviour and redeemer to receive free pardon and a full remission of all my sins, and my body to be buried in such Christian decency as my executors shall think meet as vouching my worldly estate which it hath pleased God to endow me withall I give and bestow as hereafter is expressed

Item I give unto Thomas Coggrave my eldest son all the furniture within the shop or elsewhere belonging my trade and one bedstead with the bedding belonging to it in the parlour wherein I now lie with one table in the same room, and in the house one Gallow baulk (?) with racks and crooks with other implements thereunto belonging one long table one buffet form and benches thereunto belonging, one settle in the chimney corner one dresser table one glass case one wainscot chair and the lesser brass pot with all the hanging shelves in the house.

Item I give to my son Robert Coggrave one wainscot chest in the parlour standing at the bedfoot.

Item I give unto my daughter Hannah Coggrave all the residue of my household goods within both the houses and my wagon to enter on within ten days after Michaelmas next, and one black she -----ing (?) with calf coming three years old and one black she calf more unto a year old and one bay colt coming three years old, in full satisfaction of her child’s part and portion.

Item the residue of all my goods ( my debts paid my funeral expenses discharged and four pounds to be paid to Samuel Coggrave my youngest son when he shall come to fifteen years of age) I give unto to be paid by Thomas Coggrave my son whom I make executor of this my last will and testament
