This indenture made and entered unto this December 5th, 1873 Between George W. McClure and Mary his wife of the first part and Winnie Gilchrist (a woman of color) of the second witnesseth the party of the first part in consideration of three hundred and sixty eight Dollars and seventy five cts paid as follows: One hundred Dollars cash in hand and two note for One hundred & thirty four Dollars and thirty seven cts each $134.87) One on the 1st daye of March 1874 and 1875 with interest from date in lien retained have grantee bargain and Sold unto the Said party her heirs or assign the following described property viz a parcel of Land lying in Union County, Kentucky On the waters of Anderson Creek it being a part of the Alex McClure thousand acre survey and bounded as follows 1 Beginning at a poplar tree the South corner of M. Daley Land near the Henderson Road Thence N41E 62-7/10 poles to a Stake & Dogwood, thence S40E 18-6/10 poles to a Stake in the Henderson & Sulpher Spring Road Sassafras & white oak pointers, thence with the road S57N a pole S45W 21 poles to a Stone in the Said Road, thence S40E 46 poles to a Black Oak and Dogwood thence S31W 24-8/10 poles to an Elm & 3 Dogwoods in J Kendays line thence N59W 68 poles to the Beginning Containing fourteen and ¾ (14 ¾ acres of Land) To have and to hold the Same with all appurtenances thereto to the second party her heirs or assigns forever with covenant of General Warranty. Witness Our hands and seals the day and year first above written.
