Will of Edward Barnard, proved 1855

This is the last will and testament of Edward Barnard of Claremont Square, Pentonville, Esquire that and maybe interred in a plain ???way in the Bunhill Fields Burial Grounds in the City Road in the same grave in which my father and mother were buried and given that ??? all my funeral expenses and the expenses of provisions of this my will may be paid with all ??? after my burial and out of my estate and effects as follows Whereas affirm of Edward Barnard son, of Angel Street, City of London, ??? inherit to me the sum of six thousand pounds and whatever

..my household effects and bequeath and give to my son George Barnard the sum of five hundred pounds above and beyond an equal share of the residue of my property. I bequeath and give to my two granddaughters, Ann Margery and Caroline, daughters of Mr William Reid ??? the sum of one hundred pounds in remembrance of their affectionate love of their aunt…

Remainder of my estate equally among my eight children namely Mary (Barnard) Reid wife of William Reid, Elizabeth (Barnard) Reid, wife of David Reid, Edward Barnard and John Barnard, Sarah (Faraday) Barnard wife of Michael Faraday, William Barnard, Charlotte (Barnard) Buchanan wife of George Buchanan and George Barnard...signed 1st April 1812.

Codicil to the above will ??? and bequeath to my dear friend Mr Thomas Boosey the sum of fifty pounds in trust for our poor friends and members of the church of which we are ourselves members. I also give to my executors Edward Barnard and Thomas Boosey the additional sum of two pounds ??? in addition to that mentioned in my will…

I also give to my Granddaughter Mary Barnard Reid now visiting and ??? the sum of fifty pounds as a small remembrance of her many and kind services during many years of her and her above. Also to my servant Mary ??? and to my niece Mary Barnard now in my service I give to both the sum of ten pounds . I also request my executors to continue to pay or cause to be paid to the widow of my brother Nathaniel Barnard or by any equivalent the sum of six shillings per week during her natural life and also the sum of three pounds quarterly for her rent as will appear in a statement now in my possession that they will receive the half yearly dividends of ///government stocks… in the names of Edward Barnard, Edward Barnard Junior and William Barnard, Trustees to pay to the said Elizabeth Barnard…

I also give and bequeath to Martha Barnard, the widow of my son William recently deceased the sum of two hundred pounds in remembrance of my dead son??? Dated 30th October 1848, Edward Barnard signed sealed and published …

Proved at London with a codicil 20th February 1855 … by the oath of Edward Barnard the son and Thomas Boosey the executors …
