US Black Heritage 1880 Census Project Statistics

These statistics for the US Black Heritage Project 1880 Census Project will be updated about once a month. The total population statistics are based on the expected population for each state from the official census tally. It does not reflect the exact number of profiles created. But the difference in the numbers is negligible, therefore the numbers are still useful to watch our growth.

Stats for Real-Time Profile Creation Progress

This spreadsheet has more detailed information about how many profiles have been created so far in each county and state. It should be noted that the numbers and the percent complete in this spreadsheet are only preliminary numbers - many of these profiles and the county spreadsheets haven't been checked yet and the checking process may turn up additional work that needs to be completed before we count them as "done done" and add them to our stats above.

Counties Needing Less than 20 to Finish

This list will constantly change as people finish the counties. It is current as of the date listed and will be updated periodically. Please click on the state on our 1880 project page to find the spreadsheet for each county. If you want to check if a county still needs to be finished you can look at the real-time tracking spreadsheet linked above.
