Funnel process Ideas
Idea for NEW to WikiTree'ers: When someone who is new to WikiTree and they have only one or two contributions, they are immediately sent to the WikiTree Academy from my PM to them. They are also told to add up to their great-grandparents and then reply to us again to join.
If they reply, it means they are committed. Review their contributions and send them the form to fill out minus the Welcome Mat. Once they fill out the form, onboard them and send them the funnel, directing them to the Basic Skills section. Keep it simple.
Idea for Advanced members of WT: When someone who is clearly experienced (by virtue of their history and contributions), and wants to join in a specific area, the onboarding could be swifter and include a review of their history, a badge, adding them to the new members list, etc... and then a direct introduction to the leader of that area, who takes them directly into the project. They would not fill out the form. This idea is based on the number of experienced Wikitree'ers who maybe lost their enthusiasm due to the wait or other obligations. Take the hoops out of the process for them.
Middle of the Roaders: These are the majority of people who request to join and are often all over the place with their experience and their enthusiasm. They get sent the Welcome Mat and are asked to fill out the form. They respond, they get onboarded and based on their contributions are sent the funnel with the suggested beginning point.
Who will Guide?
- All leaders will need to be willing to take on a member to guide.
- In the Path channel, when a beginner has added their family and has indicated the team they want to be on, that leader takes them on. Leader sends introduction email
- In the Path channel, when a an advanced person has been onboarded, notify the appropriate guide per their team selection. Leader sends introduction email
