Notable Platinum Profiles are those that meet the US Black Heritage Project's standard of excellence and are considered complete. Although we call these Platinum Profiles "complete," we recognize that no profile is ever truly complete and that additional information may be added, especially as new sources become available.
Requirements to reach Platinum status:
- Notable
- Is managed by USBH Project
- Meets the USBH Notable Profile Styles and Standards
- Notable blurb is located at the top of the biography
- Connected to the Global Tree (and the connection has been proven valid)
- Main ancestors and family member profiles have been checked for the African-American sticker (if applicable) and basic formatting.
- All known first degree nonliving relatives are attached
- Genealogically Defined
- Has a good biography (must include a balance of genealogical/family information and life achievements)
- No living family members are named in the biography unless also named in Wikipedia or are well known in public media
- Has good sources (primary sources when possible) + all available sources have been added to the profile
- Has adequate categories and stickers
- Has at least one copyright free photo (and all attached photos are copyright free or we have permission to use)
- All the vital radio buttons have been clicked
- The WikiPedia page is linked (if a Wikipedia page hasn't been created, it should have the Needs Wikipedia page category)
- The profile's Wiki-ID is linked on the WikiPedia WikiData page. See the Notables Project page for information on how to do this.
The US Black Heritage Project's Notable Platinum Team will work with each profile, checking if it meets the above criteria, then making changes as needed. Once the criteria has been met, they will change out the existing project box for the Platinum project box. {{USBH Platinum}}
