WELCOME TO THE U.S. GOVERNORS PROJECT
Contents |
Project Overview
The goal of this project is to develop and connect the profiles for each of the current and former United States governors.
The main objectives of this project are to...
- 1) Create a profile for each governor.
- 2) Write an accurate genealogy-based biography for each profile.
- 3) Source each profile as thoroughly as possible.
- 4) Identify and add profiles for each governor's parents, siblings, spouses, and children.
- 5) Connect each profile to the Big Tree.

To see a consolidated list of governors from all 50 states who are still in need of connecting to the Big Tree, click here: Unconnected Governors.
Columns can be sorted by clicking on the arrow button in any category heading box.

Eventually, I would like to include the colonial governors also. I wasn't able to find a WikiTree profile for Gov. Jenkins but he should certainly have one. Anything you can contribute to the tree would definitely be an asset to both genealogists and historians alike.
And also, Alabama's current governor is Kay Ivey, who is quite an interesting character. Please retire Bentley!
I added a link to this as a sub-project of Project:United States History and it should also be in the next newsletter. Great project!
Abby
Of the 47 Pennsylvania governors, 28 are not connected. I'll start working on those profiles.
